Femslash February : Day 1
Feb. 1st, 2022 06:15 pm1) First time you encountered canon femslash
You know, it took me a while.
I mean, there were lesbians in Baudelaire's The Flowers of Evil that I read in middle school. They even have names! But I'm not sure that it really counts?
OMG I was so sheltered (not in a good way) about homosexuality. And it didn't happen in kids cartoons or books at my time, unless you were looking for it.
One of the first might have been reading the original version of Ovid's Metamorphoses, where the story of Iphis and Ianthe was a good one for me (even if I guess today I would have doubts about Iphis' gender? But Iphis sees herself as a woman who loves another woman at the beginning, and angsts about it). So I was already 14 years old!
