be_the_first is a comm about writing fics for fandoms that have currently no fics on AO3.

Some time ago for once_upon_fic I had gotten a nice prompt about the chanson de geste Yde et Olive.
In this story, Yde is born a woman. When she grows up, her father wants to marry her because she looks so much like her dead mother. Yde then escapes, disguised as a man. A man who joins the army, and accomplishes so much great deeds for the Emperor Othon that he gives Yde his daughter Olive in marriage. When Othon starts to suspect something and Yde might be killed, Olive prays for him and an angel physically turns Yde into a man.

The prompt was about the characters having a happy ending without any angelic intervention. Unfortunately, the prompter didn't answer my "do you headcanon Yde as a trans man, genderfluid, or something else?" question, so I was afraid to offend. In my fic Yde is a trans man. Of course, this is a medieval story that doesn't use modern terms, so all readings are valid.

It’s a quiet evening in 1938, two rival mobsters have just earned a clean slate by saving the life of the president, and the smart thing would be to go their separate ways and keep their mouths shut about the execution they just carried out. Only maybe they aren’t really rivals anymore, and maybe killing a Nazi together is the start of something beautiful.

2. Your newest ship

Last ship that interested me is Prince/Sorcerer in the fairy tale The prince with the seven golden cows, that I told here.

But I don't think I will ever write fic, or find any, so maybe the ships I'm shipping a bit harder. Let's compare the dates

* Wanda/Agatha Harkness in Wandavision. Because damn the manipulation/mind manipulation is hot. When did I watch it? Not long after the last episode (where I started really shipping), so in March.

* Ango/Ryou in 7 Seeds. I really love Ryou's unhealthy obsession, ha ha (ahipping the traumatized complicated assholes together). I have started the manga a looong time ago, even seeing them interact as kids, but I read the last 25 volumes only in April-May, and it's then I started shipping them, so...

* Gideon/Harrow in Gideon the Ninth. I read the first book in February but you can argue that I started really shipping them only in the second book, when we have Harrow' PoV! That I read in June! So yeah, it's this one!

Avertissements : Pas grand chose à part ce qui concerne la guerre et qui est déjà dans le roman.
Notes : Ecrit d'après un prompt de Tara : Pour un roman qui se passe dans une terre de légendes, tout cela en manque singulièrement! Gauvain a été élevé pour ne pas croire à ce genre de bêtises, par nul autre que Cimourdain. Et pourtant, voici que l'ancien percepteur est le seul à pouvoir arracher son ancien élève à Viviane/Le royaume des fées/L'ankou, peu importe.
