Snowflake challenge, day 7

LIST THREE (or more) THINGS YOU LIKE ABOUT YOURSELF. They don’t have to be your favorite things, just things that you think are good.

* I have a very good memory for my special interests and ability to research hard and fast. It's nice for ficcing, nice for work sometimes, and I feel accomplished whenever I get to help my friends with questions like "which books would you recommend for creole fairy tales?" "what's a creature that's the conceptual opposite of a gnome" or "in which TMA episode does this thing happen?"

* I sure can be determined and patient when I have decided to do something.
Even if sometimes I joke that it's easier for me to put something on my todo-list, do it, and then cross it with a triumphant laugh, than to actually do it, I'm not mad at myself for it. Actually it's funny.

* And you know what, I don't always love my writing, but I always love that I'm writing.

Si jamais une personne de ton entourage veut en apprendre plus sur la culture créole de Louisiane et le kouri-vini, je recommande largement Jourdan Thibodeaux! Son contenu est disponible sur Tiktok, instagram et Youtube. C'est une figure importante pour les Louisianais francophones. J'adore son accent, mon arrière-grand-mère parlait similairement à lui (elle était une Acadienne de Caraquet au Nouveau-Brunswick, Canada). On dirait entendre la vieille langue. Taalib Pierre-Auguste est un jeune auteur créole louisianais, je recommande aussi. C'est lui qui a accompagné Xiaoma dans sa vidéo sur le kouri-vini.

Oh, merci, est-ce qu'il a aussi écrit des livres papier ? Elle cherchait plus Guadeloupe et Martinique, mais ça a l'air intéressant.

Pas à ce que je sache. Il fait de la musique, principalement.

Je ne connais pas suffisamment la Guadeloupe et la Martinique, j'imagine qu'il existe plusieurs ouvrages, mais si ce sont des cultures orales, je conseille consulter des vidéos qui sont, en quelque sorte, un moyen de perpétuer cette oralité! Je dis ça comme piste d'exploration :)

I have so many autistic feels right now! Also this reminds me that I need to update and cross stuff off my to-do list.

(Would the conceptual opposite of a gnome be a djinn? A creature of fire instead of earth, destructive and unstable, granter of wishes but only in the ways that hurt the most people? 🧞‍♂️)
