Ooh, I really do need to finish listening to The Magnus Archives someday, because I remember the little I'd gleaned about Gertrude being right up my alley at the time. <3

And I'm the same way - when I have a lot of ships, it's usually in a fandom where that's just by virtue of having a large ensemble cast that lets different side characters interact in interesting ways or just be interesting enough on their own that I want to hook them up.
