Fandom Snowflake, day 3

Create a wish list of fandom things (podfic, graphics, playlists, canon recs translations, research help, vids, sky's the limit!) that you'd like to receive. * Rec me short fics! I love drabbles (100 words) and ficlets (less than 1000 words) and they don't get recced often. It's better if it's in my fandoms and in a language I can read, but it's not mandatory, maybe some other people can enjoy it?
Self-recs are welcome too.

* I'm always looking for anglophone people I can occasionally bug with grammar/language beta.

Another French speaker, excellent! I am happy to help with any questions you may have about the three raccoons in a trenchcoat of a language that is English.

By any chance do you know the show Numb3rs? If you do, there are some amazing drabble writers there. Alas that anything I can think of reccing does require at least a little canon knowledge.

No, I never watched Numb3ers! I have a formation in maths though, so if you have some drabbles exploring this aspect I'm interested.

I'm always happy to beta read fandoms I know (looks like we're both into B5, for example), though not this month as SNOWFLAKE! I've worked with English as additional language speakers, over the years, and am pretty good at explaining with English is Like That.

It's not only English being like that - though it is - it's also me not always knowing the social class, period, country and level of formality some words are associated with, even when I know the meaning!
The classic "would the character say liberty or freedom here"

I love writing drabbles, although I don't think we're in similar fandoms. Have you thought of checking out the entries for a couple of drabble comms: drabble_zone and 100words ?

Also, I'm always happy to answer questions on English (British version) and what makes sense where, because a lot really depends on what feels right.

Yes! What feels right is so hard! Half the time I'm not sure whether I should write "it is" or "this is"
