So, it's time for reccing my favorite fics read in 2022! (and one fanvid)

Arcane
Garden of Delights by Anysin (~4000 words, OS, explicit)
Viktor takes Jayce to see his garden at the Academy. Jayce doesn't realize how special it is.
Some not accidental sex pollen. It's evil, probably a bit too much for the character, but AUs exist, and it's beautifully descripted and very hot.
Doctor Who
A Polished Silver Link in the Chain by Zabbers (~1800 words, OS, explicit)
The Doctor keeps Yana, or tries to. But of course, he fails.
You know I loved Yana first degree, and after the reveal I was so sad there was not more interaction between him and Ten. I would have eaten ten episodes of it. This is it, with smut though. ^
Dracula
Beneath Logic and Reason by Anysin (~2700 words, OS, explicit)
Jack is having trouble settling into his new duties. Van Helsing helps him relax, and secrets come out.
And one more perfectly hot mind control fic, with Van Helsing justifying his actions and they're both victorians with Problems.

So, I read lots of Izzy/Ed this year, my selection is biased :D

“What are you doing?” Izzy manages, his voice is very strange in his ears, like it’s coming from someone miles and miles away.
“Marrying you!” Ed laughs. Like it’s nothing. Like it’s a great bloody joke. “Don’t worry," he winks, "can divorce me soon as we get the discount on this fucking room."
Or how Edward Teach gave Izzy Hands a ring that he still hasn't managed to take off.
It seems like the classic tropes: sharing a bed, pretending to be married, except it's only pain; also it's so beautifully written.
How Not To Drown by DisasterShipBlonde (finished, 23 chapters, ~80000 words, explicit)
Young and bored, Ed is a deckhand - the lowest of the low amongst Benjamin Hornigold's crew. When one Israel Hands signs his name on the roster, Ed finds his boredom quickly dissipates.
"You want to play a game with me, Izzy?”
Awful folie à deux shenanigans ensue.
It starts with chapters that can be read independently as Izzy and Ed start to know each other, almost slice of life, except with codependency, sexual abuse, depression and murder. It becomes the story of the mutiny against Hornigold, suspenseful and dirty, with the characters building to a triumph that we know will be bitter. The emotional tension and character analysis are exactly what I wanted.
love is not like anything (especially a fucking knife) by anirondack (finished, 2 chapters, ~25000 words, M)
You love Izzy Hands like a boat on fire, and you suspect that’s how it will end one day.
You love Edward Teach like God, and you don’t think you have to explain that one.
Twin character studies on two men who love each other, badly.
Love the very poetic writing and the psychology.
Soul Eater
Night of the Dancing Pumpkins by AkaUsa (~1600 words, OS, T)
Crona is invited to a deadly dance.
It's Maka/Crona with angst, sweetness and mind control, the kind of low-key horror that I love and that suits them. <3

Corto Maltese
Et mille chevaux au galop par Eilisande (~9000 mots, OS, M)
Raspoutine regarde Corto par dessus la table. Le marin l'ignore totalement et son sang bouillit de rage. Corto n'a pas le droit de l'ignorer, ni de se perdre dans ses rêves romantiques, ici, dans les brumes bretonnes où marchent l'Ankou, les lavandières de nuit et les princesses englouties. Il a presque tué deux hommes pour savoir où est le beau marin, la moindre des choses serait de lui donner un peu d'attention.
Et si on le lui demande, il n'est pas obsédé par Corto, la ligne de sa mâchoire ou le son de sa voix. Il n'est là que parce qu'il y a forcément un trésor à la clé.
Corto Maltese visite la cité engloutie d'Ys. J'adore comment sa nonchalance est écrite, c'est presque aussi poétique que le canon, j'adore l'obsession de Raspoutine, encore plus explicite que dans le canon. :D

I love this song (the Dire Straits one). I love this show. It's incredibly done. I cried a bit.
