I love fictional worlds without any homophobia, where f/f, f/m and m/m relationships are seen without any difference.
But in historical/real life/fantasy inspired by a real life culture stories, I love when there's just a bit of it. Not central. Just the characters feeling they're different, that they can't be free.
It's all about projection. It's not that I want violent homophobia, but I love my character-freeing-themselves-of-internalized-homophobia plots, or characters-tricking-an-hostile-society-into-a-happy-ending ones.
(But in not-occidental cultures, I also like the way homophobia or lack of it can manifest very differently from in my projection world. So it's not only about projection.)
