11) Fluff, humor, angst, or smut?

All of them in the main story make me very happy. I'm not good at plotty fic, but I respect so much people who can balance!
(Like, in canon, Willow/Tara had all of this and I loved their romance so much)

But if I had to choose, hmm
Angst first. I'm an angst bunny.
Smut then, I'm reading and writing a lot of smut. (Smutty angst!) (No, I was just saying I would not mix)
Humor can be very, very good, but not everyone's concept of humor match. Sometimes i get recced a humor fic and don't find it funny, But when it works, the delight!
Fluff last. I love fluff more as a seasoning for a story with other elements than in a pure fluff piece, and also I can't write it. Often it misses its mark on me. When it doesn't, though, of course I adore it too... "this author is good at writing happiness" is high praise coming from me.

I really respect the writers who can do a mix of everything in a story too! Especially if they manage to do it in a shorter length fic. I wish I could do that!

Yess I can mix maybe two? and it will be about mixed feelings more than about characters ho go through the whole spectrum of emotions while still being the same story

I agree with you about fluff as good seasoning; it's the rare purely fluffy thing that workds for me, but when fluff happens in a larger context, it can be *so* good.

There are even some canons that would need a bit more fluff, for spicing ^^
