In your own space, create a wishlist.

* I like comments on my end-of-the-year memes! The fandom one or the reading one or the writing one. If we have even one fandom in common, don't hesitate! (Ask me about my faves!)

* Since we're talking about comments, feedback on my fic is always cherished.

* Recs for poetry! Rec me your favorite poem, or your favorite collection (ou si c'est en français votre poème préféré dans ceux qui ne sont pas trop connus, sinon je connais probablement déjà) (if it's in English I know basically nothing)

Feedback and comments are always lovely to receive aren't they. I shall take a look at your memes and your A03, you have some fandoms I'm familiar with but have never read in :)

I always struggle with poetry, although as a child I always loved a poetry book belonging to my mother called 'The Book of a Thousand Poems' it had such a lovely selection of poets, and poems suitable for both children and adults. I have no idea if it's still in print though. I do tend to go for the classics rather than modern poetry.

I did see that your memes are in French. I am going to attempt it, see how rusty my French is, it may not be today though, lol

English poems: I love Mary Oliver's work. She was prolific, so there's a lot to choose from.

WARNING: Flypaper for eyeballs! Consider your available free time before following these links.

Some of my fanpoems are on AO3. Frankenstein's Family is on my author website.

I have written two paperback poetry books.

The Poem tag in my blog reads 6370. This is undercounting; last year I wrote 500 kigo haiku and this year I'm onto astronomy haiku. For narrative verse, see my Serial Poetry page. If you tell me a favorite topic or two, I can try to help you find it in the archives.

You can also ask for something new. Next open prompt call will be the [community profile] crowdfunding Creative Jam on January 16-17 with a theme of "Darkness and Light." Next Poetry Fishbowl will be in my DW blog on Tuesday, February 2 with a theme of "Cultural Differences." If you love poetry, you'll probably get a kick out of watching my fans go into a feeding frenzy. :D

The Stuffed Owl is a book of BAD poetry, and useful for comparison.

My favorite books on writing poetry:

This is a guide to forms, and it includes forms from English, French, Italian, Greek, Welsh, and sundry other languages.

This one is on how to write poetry.

Ooh, poetry, I can definitely rec some of that :)

- Every Day You Play by Pablo Neruda
- la verdad / the storybook by Elisa Chavez
- The Dislocated Room by Richard Siken
- Birds Appearing in a Dream by Michael Collier
- A Monstrous Manifesto by Catherynne M. Valente
- Kindness by Naomi Shihab Nye
- Mexican American Disambiguation by José Olivarez
- The Orange by Wendy Cope
- Small Kindnesses by Danusha Laméris
- Goblin Market by Christina Rossetti

I haven't read many full poetry collections, but I enjoyed Crush by Richard Siken and 19 Varieties of Gazelle: Poems of the Middle East by Naomi Shihab Nye. I've also got a pretty hefty poetry tag on my tumblr, which has both poetry by other people I like and my own fan poetry.

So glad you liked them! I figured Goblin Market was one you might already know, but it's a favorite of mine so worth a mention :)
