One day beyond time, after the world ended, Rosie entered Mr Bouchard's office.
Curiosity, of course. Loneliness, a bit. She longed for her powerful, charismatic, oh so evil boss, her lighthouse and her shield against being a victim (was she?)
She barely saw him.
And then cameras opening over all the apocalyptic suffering, except not cameras but her new eyes. Rosie screamed, so overloaded by information she almost forgot her name. Closed the door.
And she was back to knowing nothing. Eternal anticipation of boredom was her punishment for running away, forsaking him.
Her peace too, and her regret.
