Femslash February: Day 21
Feb. 21st, 2022 09:30 am21) Thoughts about lesbian tragedy and bad endings?
Tragedy: yes please! The tension of knowing it has a bad ending, of wondering how! Tragedy with pure, strong to unrealistic feelings!
I know there are a lot of them, but they're... not often written with love? When I think about the best tragedies I've read/seen, they're rarely f/f (of course if there's a minefield of good tragedies just waiting to be discovered, I'm taking recs)
And when the characters know it can't end well, and decide their love has worth anyway? Yes please.
Bad endings written as a twist when there was a good ending just waiting at the edge of the plot, though? I'm often disappointed.
