Femslash February Challenge: Day 14

Runaways by Brian K. Vaugnan, Adrian Alphona, Rainbow Rowell, Kris Anka and some others...
Length: The original run had 11 volumes (18 + 30 + 14 issues). The current one has for now 5 volumes out. And there are bonuses. It's not the longest series, it's not like trying to start the X-men, but it's still some investment.
Happy ending or not? It's Marvel Comics. It will never finish.
Who is the wlw? ( Let's see )
Is there other representation? Sure. Nico is Japanese, Alex is Black, Victor is Latino, Gert is Jewish and fat.
Warnings? Character death (not always final, it's Marvel), some low-key but creepy child abuse.
What about the plot? Nico, Alex, Chase, Karolina, Gert and Molly's parents are used to have business meetings, and they let the kids stay together. Except that the kids are teenagers now, decide to spy on their parents, and discover they are secretly supervillains. They will now run away together and try to stop them, even if it's hard, because they feel powerless (despite the superpowers some of them have inherited), and it's their parents, who they love.
So yeah, it's about teenage rebellion with superpowers, and found family.
How good it is? It depends on the arcs. I really loved the original run by Vaughan and Alphona - the first 7 volumes of the first run - then when they left it slowly became worse and worse. When it stopped I had the feeling the writer was actively hating teenagers.
But the actual run by Rowell and Anka is good too! Respectful of the previous canon while still trying to fix the worse parts, it started as something like good fanfic, then became its own thing. I still like the original run a bit more, but it's a matter of taste.
