Femslash February Challenge: Day 12
Feb. 12th, 2021 08:19 amDay 12 of female-centered stories with canon wlws!
Noir by the studio Bee Train

Length: TV show, 26 episodes of about 24 minutes
Happy ending or not? For the main girls, yes, but you can be sad for the villains.
Who is the wlw? You know, there was all a controversy about "is this canon?" at the time, but I can no longer take this double standards. ( Spoilers )
Anyway, it's not like there are male characters in this show to have alternate ships :-D
Is there other representation? The cast is a mix of Asian and white people. Otherwise, not really.
Warnings? So much death, a bit of nudity.
What about the plot? Mireille is an orphan from a Corsican mafia family, she now is a hired killer, hoping to find who killed her parents by staying informed.
One day, she finds a girl, Kirika, who remembers nothing of her past life but is very good at killing people. They start working together, but they don't know yet that they're tested by a secret organisation, "Soldats", at every turn.
How good it is? The music is incredibly good, the scenery is very pretty, the characters are interesting (and very badass, which is the selling point), the plot is slow but it's emotionally gripping.
On the other hand, the series is so oriented towards the aesthetics and the girls with guns that when they (rarely) try to ask ethical questions about how unacceptable killing is exactly, depending on the circumstances, it seems very half-assed, and if you look for a message it can be between unclear and infuriating.
